We acknowledge that we are on the indigenous land of the Coast Salish peoples who include
the Duwamish, Muckleshoot, and Snoqualmie peoples.
We thank these caretakers of this land who have lived and continue to live here since time immemorial. We reflect on the historic context that brings us to reside on this land and accept responsibility to interrupt erasure. We commit to an ongoing partnership with the Snoqualmie Tribe as we listen to, learn from, and lead with their guidance.
What is a land acknowledgement? A land acknowledgement is a formal statement that pays tribute to, expresses gratitude and respect for, and helps raise awareness of the Indigenous inhabitants of the local land—past and present. Land acknowledgements are ceremonial in nature and do not carry any legal authority. Land acknowledgements have been adopted by the Bellevue School District and others in Washington state.
Where did the Robototes Land Acknowledgment come from? Robototes leadership voted to adopt the same Land Acknowledgment as the Bellevue School District during the 2024-2025 season.
